Bone Shaving

#1 Post by bracedfaced »

I had double jaw surgery and a genioplasty over a year ago. My lower jaw is crooked and it bothers me. I have an appointment coming up with a plastic surgeon, so I am sure he will answer these questions for me, however I was wondering if someone who has had bone shaving done could provide some input...

1. Do they go through the mouth or under the chin. Under the chin is a no-go for me...
2. How long were you swollen afterward? I was very swollen after surgery and I hope this is not as bad!

Thanks

MY jaw is very crooked, and thats why I opted to NOT have the surgery because they'd probs mess it up best of luck.

Yes, I am quite nervous about it. I also wonder of those who had it...are you satisfied? Does it look better or worse?

I remember hearing about bone shaving a lot when I was pre-op so I know there has to be someone on this board who had it done... Come on, anyone... ???
