Surgery recovery and KISSING

This might be silly... and obviously is not my primary concern when it comes to surgery and recovery... but anyway. For those of you who have had surgery and are in a relationship, did you find that the post-surgery numbness and stiffness made it harder or less enjoyable while making out with your partner? Obviously the first month or so when you're all swollen and can't brush properly and maybe wearing a splint are no-go. I'm more concerned about the months after that. I'll be super depressed if I can't kiss properly or feel it!

It isn't silly at all. Of course its a very important part of life.
I haven't done the surgery so far, so I can't be of much help..

nearly 2yrs. post op...no problems with kissing thus far! Just need for some delicate kissing in the beginning due to the healing, but now even with some numbness no problems. Best of luck!

You're still experiencing numbness two years after the operation? Doesn't that mean this numbness is permanent?

Could be, but it seems to be getting better slowly. It doesn't bother me at all

It's nearly 12 months since the op...
Like someone mentioned earlier, you will have to go gently at first.
I found also I had to learn how to kiss again because of the way my lips were. But like they say, practise makes perfect.
Oh and yes it is strange for your partner to kiss you and not feel his lips on yours when you have the numbness.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am not looking forward to this aspect of healing (extended periods of numbness) but I still think it will still be worth it.
Did most of you take vitamins that help in nerve regeneration? (Bs, E, omegas...)

I can say that for myself the loss of ability to kiss in the first month was a bonus, since we just moved to the real deal that much quicker...
Just kidding !
