Are movements post-surgery expected?
I don't know if it's just my mind playing tricks on me but it seems my bite moved slightly post-surgery. I remember my midlines lining up perfectly right out of surgery but now it's shifted a tad off center. Is it normal for the shift or do you think it's just all in my head?

Hm, can't speak to normal, but my midlines have shifted since surgery, and my surgeon says the ortho will fix it. So, I def. don't think it's all in your head, but hopefully it's minor.
EDIT: Sorry, didn't see the date-stamp on your message. Hope it all worked out!

Re: Are movements post-surgery expected?
My lower midline was quite badly off-center before surgery, and although it was central straight after surgery it ended up drifiting off-center in the opposite direction a few days later. My orthodontist fixed it with an elastic and it's pretty much perfect now (just over 3 months after surgery).
In fact I had to have an emergency appointment with my ortho two days before christmas
because he'd put me in a very odd configuration of elastics and it was pulling my mid-line over again, but on removing the elastics it centralised itself again after just a few hours, so it's definitely something that can be adjusted.
I might be wrong, but I believe it's partly down to the muscles getting used to the new position of your jaw/s, and the elastics can be used to re-train them (deliberately, or accidentally as in my recent case).
