I had an ortho appointment today, and I thought I might be getting a debanding date. There was talk that it would be right before Christmas, but alas...that didn't quite happen.

My ortho is doing some fine tweaking and has me in a funky triangle configuration for rubber bands. He said he wants to see how these go for 4 to 8 weeks. BUT, we did set a debanding date of February 8. I simply cannot believe that this journey is coming to an end!! I'm going to get upper/lower permanent retainers, and then probably the "invisilign" type retainers (whatever they are called).

I'll be patiently counting down the days to February 8

My first surgery (which was upper and lower expansion) was 2/4/09. My bi-max (upper and lower surgery) was 9/15/10. I was braced on 5/4/09. So, close to 2 years in braces and two trips to the bone saw!!

Congrats, Chicago29! Feb 8th will come before you know it! Enjoy the holiday and then next thing you know, those suckers will be off! I can only imagine how wonderful that will feel!!
