A couple of before and after shots!

So, the swelling has gone down enough that I am comfortable with this being, basically, how I look now!

There is still a good amount of swelling along my neck/jaw area, and I have some chipmunk cheeks, but still; this is it.

Tonight is the first time I have compared two pics side by side, and WOW! It is tough to understand how much of a difference it all makes until you do that!

After

I am holding my head in the after pic because it was taken as I was watching election results coming in. Living in Kentucky, those results were exceptionally depressing this time around. Oh well, though...the woes of politics aside, I am growing more and more pleased with my decision to have surgery each day!

Thanks, guys!

I am sort of surprised at how much I feel like the surgery has changed my appearance from a head-on perspective. I imagined that it would change my profile most dramatically (which it has; my profile is hugely different), but I am pleasantly surprised at how it has changed the front view of my face. I never thought I had a face that was too long before, but looking at the comparison it really (seems to me at least) did make a big difference. Even with the swelling, I am feeling good about it!

nice result, you definitively have better jaw line definition even from the front! Your swelling is really going down quickly too after not even 2 weeks! I'm still too much of a chipmunk to post mine yet:)

and btw.... did you say you were in your 30s??? Cause you could easily pass for early 20s. I am extremely jealous. ;)

Haha... I knew someone would point out my age. Yes, I am in my thirties (early thirties, 31 to be exact), and yeah, I look really young! I get carded for beer every time, and I've even been carded for lighters! It's a good problem, though!

Thanks for the kind words y'all!

You look absolutely fabulous! Your new jaw is so good-looking!

What kind of surgery did you have?

Lingualita, I had Lefort I and BSSO. Upper jaw was advanced 5-6mm, lower was reduced 5-6mm. Thanks!

Mandy, where in KY did you go to school?

Wow, Broadway Bill! You look really good! I notice that men tend to have really good results. Most have underbites so maybe that is why. You barely look swollen to me!

Thanks!

I actually look quite a bit different even today than I did when I took my after pic. I can nearly almost smile again, and more of the swelling is gone. Now I just have it in my cheeks and around the bottom of my jawline (where it meets my neck). I feel great, too, although working and classes for at least 12 hours a day is tough, and I am pretty hangry.

All things considered though, I feel great. Honestly, part of me is just blown away by how amazing it is that 4 weeks ago today I was in the midst of a 7 hour surgery with my skull being sawed into pieces. The fact that I am where I am now, after a month, is just beautiful and incredible to me.

Ahhhh, I cannot wait to be able to say the same! That sounds wonderful! Congrats!
