Countdown til de-banding!

It's been a while since I've posted but just wanted to update on my progress. I had double jaw surgery and genio on 9th July. And I have a debracing date for mid-December!! My ortho told me 6-9 months of braces after surgery, so I'm stoked to be getting them off only 5 months after

I have had one wire change since surgery, at about 6 weeks post-op. I've been wearing elastics full-time since surgery, but as of today I only have to wear them at night! I am seeing my ortho every couple of weeks, and it seems like each visit there is good progress towards debanding.

So, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Debracing day seemed so far off I never dreamed it would actually happen. And now I have an appointment for it!

For everyone struggling through the initial stages of surgery and recovery, please know that the weeks do begin to fly by. We'll all get there in the end

Congrats on the big removal date! How exciting!!

WOW - I wish mine was that fast after surgery. I have only 2 weeks to go til debanding and my surgery was in January. My ortho says that I am lucky that I am getting them off early than expected because they originally estimated a total of at least 2 years in braces.

Bring on the next two weeks!!!
