For those who have not had continous in medical coverage

I have not had medical insurance since Igo t out of college ayear ago. I am trying to get orhtognathic surgery. What is the process to go about getting the right coverage for the surgery? Do iapply for it first and then buy coverage fora couple of months and then haev the surgeon file the paperwork?

The insurace company is giveing me the ruaroud?

I've heard that you should go without insurance for 62 days. If the gap is longer than 62, you will probably have waiting periods due to pre-existing conditions.

Your best bet is trying to research insurance companies to see what plans will and will not cover it by prior experience. Some plans are much easier than others.

Depending on your plan, the surgery will either be automatically covered (rare) or you will have to file for pre-authorization.
