Get my braces on tommorrow ( strong Class 3 underbite/cross

Well this day has finally come.. I get my braces on tommorrow.. supposedly 1 year braces, then double jaw surgery and then 6 more months.. really excited/ nervous.. I am 25 years old and was going to have it done 3 years ago but didn't want braces.. The time has finally come.. Ive had bonding done a few years ago on my upper teeth to make them look better, they give the appearance of a decent smile from a distance. I dreaded cameras for a long time and still do because of my bite. Only 2 teeth touch and they are in the back. I don't bite things, I pull them apart.. I have a limited nasal passage, mouth breathing, impaired speech, etc. Cant wait for this to happen and can't wait for it to be done with. I'm sick of being embarrased of my smile and its time to do something about it. The financial consultant for my ortho said she never saw a class 3 as strong as mine. I'll be sure to update this thread as it goes on and hopefully at the end of it I am very happy with the result. oh and that is me actually biting down.. thats how open it is.

Dunno.. I might have nad you beat on the underbite, but that cross does look pretty extreme.

Did you have your maxilla widened first to get rid of the crossbite?

Your bite is pretty similar to mine (although your teeth look pretty good to start with, actually like mine are now!) Me biting down:

I have the exact same issues as you too- it's not too good, is it?

Good luck though. And don't be too nervous- braces are a breeze, really, compared to your issues anyway

Just wanted to give a quick update, Got my braces on in Nov.. for about a month or so the top brackets kept coming loose because of the composite on my teeth, we fixed that with a different type of glue and now I have a set surgery date of August 11th. I honestly can't believe that i have a surgery date. I feel like just yesterday I got my braces on and honestly having braces isnt a big deal, I just want the surgery. I'm so excited that the surgery is in reach and I can't wait to have it.. its truly something ive wanted my whole life.

To all the people considering getting this done, or are worried.. just do it, you dont want to look back 30 years from now and wonder if you should have done it. I havent even had the surgery yet and i'm the most excited ive been in a long time.

I'm having a lefort 1 done and a bunch of other stuff, including a genioplasty.. I forget the names of everything he listed but from the sounds of it hes going to rip me up pretty good:)
