Chin Reduction

Hello Everyone!

I currently have braces and will need OS next year. When I got my diagnosis from my orthodontist, he said I would need orthodontic surgery(I have an 8mm underbite) and also had the option of a chin reduction. He said if I got the chin reduction I might have excess skin or something of that nature. I didn't really question him at the time until I started doing research on the surgery.

I am really interested in getting the chin reduction when I get my underbite fixed...but I am concerned about how the chin will turn out.

Has anyone gotten a chin reduction? If so, how many mm's were removed and how did it turn out. Would like to see some pictures, too.

Thanks a lot everyone, this surgery is constantly on my mind. I am comfortable with the idea of moving my lower jaw back...but I boggled as to whether I should get the chin reduction.

I had my lower jaw advanced 6mm and my chin reduced 6mm and all turned out fine. Check out my blog if you like.
