Day 13 of Lower Jaw Surgery(Class III) - ABSOLUTELY NO PAIN!

Hi all, this is such an awesome resource! I wish I looked this up before my surgery
Anyway, even upon waking up from surgery, I experienced no pain or nausea. Ever since then I have not had a drop of morphine or any other prescribed pain killers since I've gotten home. Is that normal? Anyone else experience this? I'm absolutely grateful for it. The girl beside me in the hospital room had the opposite - lower jaw advancement - and she was in a lot of pain
Everything else was typical. Day 3 was the worst of my swelling. This liquid diet isn't the funnest thing in the world and TV food commercials suck. The liquid antibiotic tasted horrible (thank God I'm finished it!) and I would use a Mocha Boost shake as a chaser right after. Mango lassi, mango juice and those cute little yogurt drink things from the Asian supermarket are my other staples in addition to Boost.
I took 4 weeks off from work, so hopefully that's enough. The swelling has gone down a lot and I can't wait for all of it to be gone. I'm still banded shut and I can't wait until I'm allowed to keep my mouth open.
1 week after surgery I went to go see my oral surgeon and he unbanded me for a few minutes. THAT was the ONLY time I experienced nausea. I'm not sure if it was because of physical or psychological reasons. I know it felt absolutely weird to see my new bite, even though I know my teeth are closer to perfect now.
I wish everyone luck who is going through the same thing or even just braces alone. It's a lot of effort and commitment, but that smile we're all going to get in the end will be so worth it!
