How long did you wear braces before Surgery?

Im curious. Im not sure when tomexpect my jaw surgery but my doctor said I'll talk to a oral surgeon in the next few months whenever that is.

So how long did you wear braces before your surgery and what was your condition?

We'll so far I've been in braces for 2 years and have approx 3 months until surgery (finally), although my progress has been a bit slower due to having to work with an impacted canine and bringing that down into the correct position as well as needing a root canal on that same tooth a year later which halted treatment for about 2-3 months.

I wore braces for 13 months before surgery. It depends how much work they need to do in order to get your teeth aligned. I've seen people only have braces on for 6 months, and others who had braces for 4+ years.

From the time I started all my treatment, it was actually 18 months.

I had a narrow palate, crossbite, I needed upper and lower jaw surgery to correct a class II bite.

It depends. I've had braces since February and I'm getting surgery this week. So 6 months. But I had braces like 10 years ago so my teeth were in pretty good shape.

Which surgery are you getting? I had my braces put on last Feb and had my sarpe surgery a month later.

Lefort 1 and BSSO, CCW rotation

I just had a lefort 1 and bsso and waited a year after my SARPE for the second one. So like everyone said it will depend on your ortho at this point. They will know when you're ready for surgery.

I had braces a while back, so my teeth were relatively straight. I did however have an overbite and my front teeth flared a bit. I was in braces for about 10 months before my surgery. This would have been shorter, but we were closing spaces from extracting 4 bicuspids. (The first time in braces was 5 years)
