When do you need jaw surgery?

#1 Post by overjetoverbite »

No one answered after a month of asking, so I might as well put it here

When exactly do you need jaw surgery? I'm getting Invasilign and Elastics. I asked him if I needed jaw surgery. My ortho's response was "Absolutely not"

Thoughts?

Yes, I'm getting my teeth whitened after Invasilign

Jaw surgery is an option for lots of conditions. Nobody here can say whether or not you need it as we're not professionals. If your orthodontist reviewed your x-rays and molds and does not think you're a candidate for surgery, trust them.

I don't mean to sound trite, but you need surgery when an orthodontist you trust deems it appropriate for your case.
