son going to Dr. Arnett 'cause his practice is the best.

My son, Matt, 18, had upper and lower jaw surgery, lefort III in the past. We live in Ohio. Besides having underdeveloped jaws, he suffered from obstructive sleep apnea. Matt has a total of 3 breaks of upper jaw, and three of the lower jaw. He never got cured, infact, his condition got worse. After much debate, I bit the bullet and took him to the best, Dr. Arnett. They said he was the best. We met with him and I can say, I agree. He gave us more information in one day then we got in four years in Ohio. We have United Health Care and I don't expect we will get much help from them. Plus airfare, staying in Santa Barb. for maybe a month due to Matt's conditon etc. We started a fund raiser to help with cost and so far things are going well. I anticipate surgery for Matt around August or September. If he can fix Matt after all the damage he had, and no doctor I spoke with in Ohio will touch him since he's a reoperate, then Dr. Arnett can do miracles. Keep us in your prayers. they said surgery around 8 hours. Anyone else can relate how long it took for double jaw and bone grafting let me know. Thanks a bunch. And if there are cheap condo rentals you'd recommened let me know.

although my surgery wasn't a re-do it was supposed to take at least 5-6 hrs with Drs Gunson and Arnett, it took 3hrs. Everything went perfectly. Your son is in great hands :) If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

Yeah my surgery was 9 hours with Arnett for my second redo. They did a great job. Just be prepared that being under anesthesia that long will really make him feel like death for weeks. I don't think I was back to being halfway normal for a good 6 weeks.

Thanks for the responses. I'm a ton nervous about this. When you said your surgrey took nine hours and you felt like death after, did you just mean you felt really tired? Who did your first surgery since you had a redo?
Thanks for listening.
