Or at least that's what my ortho told me on my last visit. Let's hope nothing goes wrong on these next two, because after them I go in for pre-surgery consultation! So freaking pumped...
Anyway, I was curious how pre-surgery consultation usually goes? I know he mentioned a physical several months back, so that is probably in the cards. Would love feedback from any experienced patients!
I went in for consultations a total of three times before surgery. First, before I had my braces put on for a brief informational session. Second, about halfway between the braces going on and the surgery just to check on my progress.
The third is the one I suspect you're talking about. I went in about a week before surgery to have molds made, consents signed, and take some final measurements of my face. It lasted about three hours. There wasn't a physical, but I did have to go to my primary care for a physical conducted within 30 days of the date of the surgery. This was pretty thorough and required a few blood panels too.
I actually scheduled a physical on my own about six months before my surgery figuring that when the time came, they would want a recent one on file. I just didn't anticipate it needing to be within 30 days!
