I know that your bite becomes worse before surgery. I have a recesses lower jaw. My question is how bad is it going to look like. Is it bad enough or a drastic change that everybidy is going to notice the bad bite before surgery, or is the ortho or a professional are the only ones that can notice the change.
LET ME KNOW
Thanks

The bite will only seem to get worse to you. It takes a lot of changes in order for the aesthetic changes to be noticeable on the the outside, and no one is going to notice that but you. Orthodontics really can't change THAT much when it comes to outward aesthetics (jaw relationship positions), that's why we have surgeons. On the other hand, the bite will get worst until the surgery, because your orthodontist needs to line up your teeth properly along your jaws before the surgeon can go to work. That's partly how the surgron calculates what to cut and where.
So to answer your questions, don't worry about it. These are small things that only trained eyes will be able to see, not someone you'll have a conversation with.

Yeah, it will not be very visually different from the outside, absolutely nobody has ever said I look any different - it's all from inside your mouth. The only thing I have noticed is something only I could notice anyway - my bite got much more frustrating as the braces have caused all teeth to barely have any contact - because they're all straight and vertical now. So don't worry about the aesthetics in the run up to the op! When you don't have braces, your teeth naturally try to align and meet and so bend towards each other, so that's why it feels worse, when, in foresight it is for the better to straighten them out.
