When did u get insurance?Help

I would like to know when did u start working on getting insurance coverage for your surgery. Was it before you got braces, during brace period( how many months after you got ur braces)

I get my insurance coverage through my employer. At first, before I knew I needed jaw surgery I got the basic HMO plan. Then after getting braced and referred to the surgeon, it wasn't until then I found out my plan didn't cover orthognathic surgery. So when I had the chance to change plans to a PPO I was able to have the procedure 100% covered. So my insurance company covers it, but only if you have the PPO plan.
