im on the other side

#1 Post by sec9 »

Had my upper and lower jaw surgery on Wednesday and all in all it wasnt to bad. I thew up pure blood on the first day after sugery (ya bet u wanted to hear that  } anyways I had a few episodes at the hospitol where I incoherently rip out my IV and decided to go on a walk until I was caught and brought back to my room. I took my ice pack of twice as well. ahaha I had know idea what i was thinking. MY pain and swlling has be extremely minimal. The doctors are shocked by how much i could talk and eat for a upper and lower surgery. The feeling is slowly but surely coming back to lips, cheeks, and nose. I knd of have that tingling feeling all over my face which they keep assuring me is good. Id say the hardest part is I cant really swallow yet so im trying to best not to druel ( honestly I dont know why but i cannot spell that word right now now. wierd) I can get my liquids down barely but just getting salvia down my throat instead of down my lips has been challenging. I have napkin in between my lips in the mean time. I will post some pics later. IF you any questions all I got is time and would love to use so of time helpin you out. I am fresh from the hospitol.

This post had many miseplled words i know. sorry

sec9,

First, one thing to say to you: you did it! Feel proud of yourself for making it to where you are right now.

Your swelling should be at about its worst right now, and one more day of using ice packs should help.

Make sure that you are getting adequate rest so that your body can heal, along with nutrition in the form of vitamins (liquid if necessary) and/or supplements. Light exercise like walking will also help your swelling to go down more quickly.

By the way, druel and fuel rhyme, I completely understand where your mind is right now...

Take care of yourself, be kind to yourself, and ask for help when you need it.

Be well, and at peace,

Phil
