Correct Midline - top braces only

#1 Post by amychelle »

I've seen a lot of posts on here about midlines, and most of them talk about elastics.

Can elastics be used if you only have top braces?

If not, how will he correct my midline? - which is now off due to a spacer spring

I am not a professional, but as far as I know, in order to have elastics, you need a bracket somewhere on the bottom to connect the elastic between the two arches. I'm not sure if there are any alternatives. Good luck!
Damon 2's top and bottom, BRACED 02/22/04 and REMOVED 08/29/05. Now in bonded retainers (top and bottom) :4 wisdom teeth surgically removed on 12/22/05:

Maybe they'll stick a bracket down there just for that.

But man, wouldn't that be annoying?! Just one! Ugg. That would stick out way worse than a sore thumb!

Maybe some powerchain rig up. My ortho seems to be good at the "rigging something up" as he has already done it twice.

If you pulled elastics from one tooth you would rapidly look like a sabre toothed tiger because it would extrude. You have to a get a full set of braces for elastics.
