I have ring tail lemurs to wear during the day and "purple" to wear at night the "purple" are actually lime green in color about twice as strong as the lemurs. My ortho took pitty on my poor phone answering soul and gave me lighter elastics during the day so I can actually talk. since half the roof of my mouth is occupied by a mound of acrylic (bite Plate) I have enough trouble talking with out the limitied ability to open my mouth. and I have a standard hooks on bottom goes over the front teeth and back down config. byebye overbite!!!

I recently got "Mountain Gorilla"...think it says medium and green on it. I wear 2 just up & down for canines so far...more hooks in my mouth means I have more coming at some point I'm sure

ok, had to bump this thread up because im now a fellow elastics-wearer

I received my first packet of elastics early last week.

I'm wearing Impala like Vonster is

2F (3/16") 6 oz

Mannnn, they are a pain to keep on. They are so tight. At least I've reached this point, after having an underbite for so many years, never really thought i would be wearing elastics. It signifies the conclusion of my treatment after my surgery.

I feel like such a total braceface now with these elastics on. Plain braces is a breeze compared.

When I wore elastics, they were Cathys. I think I may have also worn Bills for a short while.

Seems like a lot of you guys have animals and not people for elastics.

But I have to say, the prize goes to "Bummer." That is just too funny!

Although, if I created an elastic, I suppose I'd name it "Owie!" (exclamation point included, LOL). :D

I just got elastics for the first time today and they are called Southern Bald Eagle.

How creative for them to find such names...I wonder where the names come from!!

I'm in Japan!

H6 Elastics HEAVY
6mm(1/4")

And yes, "HEAVY" is written exactally like that on the bag.

A friend of mine who had braces a few years ago said they start you in heavy, then drop you to thinner elastics as your treatment goes on. Anyone else experience this?

I started with medium ("Bill") and have been in them for the last 7 weeks. I guess it depends on what the ortho is trying to achieve.
