Any Good Providers in Sacramento? Complex Case...

#1 Post by ClassIII »

I had a failed Le Fort in 2018 (took me from severe Class III to severe Class I). After six years of pain, I'm about to give up and have my upper anteriors extracted.

There's one last-ditch treatment my DDS (all the way in Phoenix) wants me to do, but he can't find an ortho willing. We have to "undo" what the last ortho (who walked off the case did), and that requires returning me to Class I, followed by temp-crowing my back teeth - seeing if that removes the pain. Orthos in Phoenix don't want me because they fear I'm too far away in an emergency.

My upper anterior teeth have pancaked atop one another, and hurt constantly. Living in rural NorCal, there are not a lot of orthos, and none north of Sac have been willing to take my case. (Vacillate between too-complicated, don't-advise-as-teeth-can-overlap, and golly-you-need-even-more-opinions-best-wishes-warmest-regards).

One of the two biggest towns, everyone knows the ortho that dropped me (they have an all-boys-club gathering regularly), and won't take the case out of friendship/conflict-of-interest concerns with him (yes, I've been told this to my face).

Only ortho that has indicated willingness is 8 hours away round-trip, and I can't afford that. I'd be better off paying 2x to 3x a normal revision plan. But I can't find anyone qualified and willing to do a revision like this.

So yeah, if there's an ortho in Sacramento that genuinely likes taking tough cases - and not just saying they do (been there, done that), I'd appreciate a referral.

Sounds very difficult -- you may want to post in the oral surgery subforum here, https://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewforum.php?f=15 . So sorry you are going through this, and best of luck. The boards have been fairly quiet lately, but you could also do a search on that forum (data entry field is in the top left of the field) and you might get lucky.
I entered "Sacramento" as the search term and got these results https://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/searc ... 5B0%5D=15
