I'm the owner/admin of this site. Had ceramic uppers, metal lowers ~3 years in my early 40's. Now in Hawley retainers at night!

Interesting article. I have read several articles/listened to podcasts that talk about the benefits of nasal breathing (or rather, the detriments of oral breathing), and can see how mouth breathing is not good at all. I don't think I believe the Mews' idea that you can change the structure of your face by using your tongue, but they may not be wrong about that fact that our modern diet is having an effect on our jaws.

The human body is very dynamic, it won't waste energy on things that it doesn't need to. So if you stop working out, your muscles shrink, and if you start taking melatonin, eventually your body will stop producing it. Stands to reason that if we don't exercise our jaws the same way we used to during our formative years, they might not grow the same.

No comment on the incel aspect.
