I’m 3 weeks into my braces journey. I have traditional braces, extraction 3 weeks ago lower tooth in front of molar. I went Into my second appt (two weeks early bc my bracket came off) they power chained my bottom teeth row (which is very crowded hence the extraction)
Now I understand the power chain (the also added metal steel tie and a coil spring ) in extraction spot to close this, but why a power chain over already crowded tight teeth? That seems like it’s defeating the purpose. I’d post a pic but no idea how, been member for few weeks and not able still.

Never mind, I haven’t made (7-12posts yet) which seems a lot lol whenever I do, guess I’ll post a pic then lol

I also had very crowded teeth (mine were on the bottom) and had extractions done. Looking back over some of my pics I did notice that they used powerchains on the bottom to help pull my bottom incisors into the space created by the extractions. They weren’t placed on all my bottom teeth, just used to pull up the incisors.
