Treatment persuaded others?

#1 Post by Smileop »

I’m curious if anybody out there deciding on treatment after seeing somebody else or there results?

And likewise whether your journey has encouraged other to peruse treatment as well?

I know a friend that ended up getting treatment after seeing her other friend straighten her teeth before her wedding and ultimately decided getting treatment as well

I have two coworkers who are now wearing braces after seeing me in treatment and talking to me about my braces. It's nice to have some company!

My coworker got persuaded and she is getting braces for herself and her kids. Unfortunately, I couldn't try to convince her to have them done at a reputable orthodontist and she is getting them at her dentist office. I don't feel this is ideal, but hopefully it will work out well for her.

Two coworkers; although they are both pursuing invisalign and I have ceramic top and traditional lowers. Interestingly though; both are using regular dentist and not orthodontist. I did not even know that was a possibility. I'm not sure if I would ever consider someone who has not had extensive training in orthodonture.. To each his own.

I'm looking at getting orthodontic treatment cause of my teeth are still moving somehow at 24. It's crazy. I have a co-worker who has braces and that does make it easier to take the leap. Haven't started yet though.

I am concerned about treatment though, not really looking forward to being the 24 year old guy with metal braces and palate expander 😕

I will say I’d much rather be that 24 year old for a short time with braces and smile that’s great forever than feel self conscience wishing I had done something to correct my teeth

As the 37 year old at my office with metal braces, I'd say go for it! If you can get past the first few days of self-consciousness about being the 24 year old guy with metal braces and an expander, you can look forward to being the 26 or 27 year old guy with a perfect smile.

You're still young. I think it's more acceptable these days for people in there 20s having braces. I'm nearing my 40s and thinking of getting them.

I got my braces when I was 36 years old. I'm 37 now and nearing the end of my treatment. I was a little self conscious in the beginning, but I quickly realized that no one except me noticed my braces. I even had a co worker asked me if I just got braces when I was already 1 year in.

I'm 43 and just got braces last week. It's never too late, but if you have the opportunity to get it done, go for it!

I say definitely go for it at 24..... I started considering it in my 20s , had several consults over the years, and finally took the plunge in my 50s after sooo many years of self consciousness about my smile! The time does go fast but oh how I wish I would have done it much much sooner. Good Luck!!

It's sad that I have to quote myself and say that my coworker who didn't listen to me and got her braces done at her dentist, ended up paying thousands of $$ and ending up with a horrible bite and her teeth never aligned. She has to repeat treatment now and she is going to see an ortho. This is unfortunately what happens when you don't see a specialist.
