My braces are tearing up my tongue!
My molar bands are tearing up my tongue. I have welts on both sides of it and I can’t eat, drink, suck on a straw, swallow, talk, or move my tongue with out hitting whatever is on my molar bands. My tongue has even gotten caught on it and I’ve had to use my finger to get it unstuck. I am currently biting on a napkin to keep my tongue from hitting my molar bands. I have cried on several occasions due to the pain. The wax doesn’t stay on and I am in severe pain.

If you are in so much pain, please see your ortho and see if there is anything they can adjust or do something about it.
In the meantime, if the normal dental wax does not stay on, try the silicone ones? Some people swear by it. Or you can just use those silicone ear plugs, think they are made from the same material. An alternative is some product called cannot mention (google it, I'm sure there are places that you can get it from online.). I haven't personally tried it, but heard it stays on even after eating and drinking.
Hang in there, things will get better and hope you feel better soon!

There may be some items at Dentakit.com, sponsor of this board, that may help. A new product called orthodots may be an answer. Best of luck to you.
