Hey! I am not happy with my teeth. My teeth are so crooked and my molars are overlapped. I am 17 years old and my teeth are bothering me. I hate my smile because of my crooked teeth. My friends used to make fun of my teeth and they say that I look like a monster. I am very disappointed about my teeth. I am not able to brush properly because of my crooked teeth. When I discussed this with my mother, she suggested getting traditional braces( https://www.lakeridgedental.ca/services ... aditional/ ). So I am planning to visit a clinic in Brampton for getting braces. Can braces fix overlapping and crooked teeth? Does getting braces hurt? Will I need to have any teeth extracted before getting braces? Please share your insights. Any advice would be great. Thank you!

Yes, braces can fix overlapping and crooked teeth. As for pain, I would say some people experience more than others, so it's abit hard to predict if you would or not. For me, it hasn't really been all that painful, only during the times when I get my adjustments and even that not every adjustment hurt.

As for getting teeth extracted, I personally had to get 4 premolars extracted because I had a rather huge overbite and moderate crowding top and bottom. So my ortho ordered the extractions to make room to bring my front teeth in and to unravel the crowding.

Whether you will need them or not that will depend on your individual case, facial profile, teeth and mouth size, etc. Your ortho will diagnose and make recommendations after examining you and reviewing your xrays and study models.

Thank you assertives for your valuable reply. I visited the dentist last week and got my braces. Four of my premolars were extracted. And I experience no pain and discomfort after wearing the braces.

Yes, overbite and overjet problem can be fixed by braces
