Dental Tourism

Hello, I live in the New York City area and am interested in exploring dental tourism to get braces. Does anyone have any experience with this, and if so can you offer any advice or, better yet, referrals to a clinic where you were treated? I'm assuming Mexico would be my most cost-effective option, but I'm absolutely open to any part of the world. Thank you!

It's not really cost effective to travel for braces because you would need to travel back and forth a lot for adjustments every months to 3 months for possible 1.5 to 3 years.

There are some posts on the subject, and you may want to try a search on "mexico" to find them here. Of course you realize you'll require appointments every 4 - 6 weeks, but it would be a good excuse to travel! Best of luck to you!

This sounds like a really expensive way to save cash...

I have already had 4 appointments, I can only imagine how many more are going to be needed before I'm done, possibly 18 (at one a month). Even then is a three hour round trip in the car.

Yeah, like I said, the original poster would not save money after factoring in a round trip for every appointment; dental tourism would be great from quick dental work that's costs a lot of money, but not Orthodontics which can take up to a few years and possibly dozens of appointments.

Maybe they don't realize it's more than just getting braces put on and waiting years?
