Is it just me or does my mouth look so much more messy and out of whack than before braces? Is there even room for my teeth to move without extractions?!

No. The pictures are not very clear, but I can see that your front teeth are straightening out.

Also remember that things will often look worse before they start to get better. It's just the nature of orthodontics. Shove teeth around a bit, make room for other teeth to get where they need to go, then gradually yank everything into the right places.
Braces for 18 months/4 days.
