Don't you just hate gaps?

#1 Post by Tyrantblade »

When I have a noticeable gap in my teeth I feel so silly, which is how I've felt since I was about 13, fell on my face in the kitchen and my front tooth came completely out; then I lost the tooth; so I couldn't get it put back in.

My problem back then was an overbite with my 2 front teeth too close, one was off center and covering the edge of the other.

Never got braces then because money was always an issue growing up (mostly from giving my oldest brother a million chances and him stealing everything, but that's as far as I'll talk about him in this post).

So I knew going into treatment eventually I'll get 2 permanent implant teeth, and for a while I've had a Pontic in the front spot, so I feel way less silly.

But lately to get my teeth where they should be they put an open coil spring to make it closer to center, which it is, and eventually it will look more correct as my midlines get better and especially when they close the gap that opened.

But there's a noticeable gap and I feel silly and hate to see it.

I really don't know how you guys that get extractions as part of Orthodontic treatment do it, I couldn't imagine having gaps like that for months as part of the treatment, I feel so silly having the 2 gaps I've had for as long as ive had (though the 1st molar gap on the top right was a lot more recently, probably like 4 or 5 years back when the tooths filling fell out and we couldn't afford to repair it, so it got extracted instead, and so that's the 2nd implant).

I'm a little concerned about the cost of the 2 implants, but I'm closing in on the end of braces late this year, and so there will be that, and some flex card planning to help (i have heard that it's a good idea to do part 1 near the end of 1 year and part 2 near the beginning of the next year; plus I found a grant type thing for cosmetic dentistry I can try)
Lots of crimes here

1. The upper molars bite too far ahead of the lower molars

2. Missing teeth #s 9, 14, and, 29

3. Open bite

4. Upper midline left of center

5. Lower midline right of center

6. Upper and lower teeth not straight

Sentence - 24 months, turned to 27 month.

Braces removed since 11/06/17

talk about gaps....my right 3rd tooth didnt grow at all, so i had this huge hole in my mouth, until last week when i went on a surgery to get it uncovered and later connected to the braces....its still a big gap that is noticeable very well (one of the reasons i dont like to smile) but ill give it time and the tooth will come down someday
