Initial problem: Overjet, minor crowding class II division I malocclusion

Okay, here's my story. Before i got braces last may, i knew of the risks of extractions but i went to 3 orthodontists rated highly in toronto and all 3 of them said i needed extractions so i figured even tho i didn't want to get extractions i had no other choice so i went for the orthodontist that had great reviews and was relatively cheap. Also because i heard extractions wasn't as bad for overjet and crowding
treatment plan was to remove 2 upper premolars and push the bottom teeth back into the bone a bit to create enough space to move back the overjet
I removed 2 upper premolar couple of months back, gaps are still not closed but maybe this is the best time to ask for him to reverse if i pay extra?
Anyways, my issue now is im seeing some negative consequences such as the biggest one being my big nose looking bigger, sunken eyes and exaggeration of bad chin, not sure how much of this is delusions
So would you suggest i talk to my ortho trying to reverse the damage, get implants and also surgery? I'm not really worried about the surgery but more so worried about the costs, unless maybe ohip would cover it?

I can't answer you as I don't see your profile but in the photos it appears that you have some dental protrusion. To tell you the truth, I was treated with 4 premolar extractions and I waited until the last phase of the treatment to see the good effects. The first year, I saw my chin becoming bad too.versimo wrote:22/M

You just got your extractions a couple months ago and think you're already seeing negative effects from it?
Re: Having regrets i think? NSFW (Yellow teeth)
I had premolars extracted before my braces went on and it was 9-10 months before I entered the active gap closure phase of my treatment. If it's only been two months, you're probably in a phase where some aligning and leveling still needs to be completed before the gaps can be addressed. If your concerned about your treatment, you need to have a talk with your orthodontist.

When I got my braces I started to lose weight, which is good for me. I'm hoping to lose a bit more, and people are telling me my face looks thinner. I don't see it in the mirror, but I think not being able to eat all the things I usually ate is having an effect on me. I feel pretty confident everything will go back to normal, but I'm obsessed with not letting my weight go back up. Anyway, after hanging out in this forum since I got my braces I believe many here tend to exaggerate what's happening with their faces, teeth and overall looks -- because that's what "they" see in the mirror.
Re: Having regrets i think? NSFW (Yellow teeth)
I suffered mild muscle atrophy in my masseter (the chewing muscle) while on a liquid diet after jaw surgery. I would think that chewing softer foods to accommodate braces could lead to the same result, on a much smaller scale you would still be moving the jaw more than someone who had just had theirs broken. After the swelling dissipated, my face appeared thinner as well but once I was given clearance to go back to chewing tougher foods, like meat, things filled out again because the masseter muscles were being worked again.
