Daily Change with Braces Video- Time Lapse

#1 Post by DrJasonKTam »

I wanted to share a video made by one of our patients during his treatment. It was a great surprise to receive yesterday because we had no idea he was doing this during his time in braces with us. Check it out!

It was his video that he sent us. I'd be a bit concerned if he wore the same shirt every day :). Glad you enjoyed it!

Thats a lot of work to take a picture every day for 3 years and turn it into a video, i certainly could never be bothered to do that much and im just to the point of where i can visualize my end result and see my bite start coming together nicely.

Very well done video by the patient and it should be inspiring.
Lots of crimes here

1. The upper molars bite too far ahead of the lower molars

2. Missing teeth #s 9, 14, and, 29

3. Open bite

4. Upper midline left of center

5. Lower midline right of center

6. Upper and lower teeth not straight

Sentence - 24 months, turned to 27 month.

Braces removed since 11/06/17

That was very cool! I can barely remember to take a picture at every adjustment, let alone every day.
Braces for 18 months/4 days.

Great video! How old was the patient when he started treatment?

That is great for so many reasons! He looks like a happy patient, it tracks the length of time (no overnight successes with braces), and it shows different movements as gaps disappear. Great idea and well done. Thanks for sharing, Dr. Tam!

The treatment is long because we had to start the treatment earlier in order to move his lateral incisors away from his upper canines. We then had to wait for the canines to erupt into place before continuing with the rest of the treatment. Typically our treatments are not this long!

I really love this video because it shows the great changes but I also know how much work it must have been to put together this video from the start of treatment with an end in mind... every single day. Of course, our patient is thrilled and we are happy we had the opportunity to work with him!

Hopefully this video can inspire some people to visualize that there is an end in sight :).

Dr. Tam,
Would you mind if I asked Lynn the mod if she would consider making this a sticky at the top of this page?

Absolutely. Go ahead. I think it would be very motivational for a lot of people! Our patients are loving it as well!
