Unbalanced bite

#1 Post by dejavu »

I've had rubber bands for about 19 days now. I started braces with an anterior open bite that will eventually be fixed, although I'm not sure what my current rubber bands configuration is working on. Anyway, while my bite has never been great, it always felt natural before. Now, not so much.

Basically, whenever I bite down, I feel it hit my left back bottom molar first. The other side doesn't touch, so it feels really unbalanced and awkward. I've heard that braces/rubber bands can sometimes make things worse before they get better, but this seems really bad, like we've created a pretty big problem. Should I call my ortho about this? I've been wearing my rubber bands exactly how I was told to, to the letter.

Sounds perfectly normal. Teeth don't always move at the same speed.
Braces on: 2/25/2013. Braces Off: 12/23/2015

It's probably a normal thing that will resolve itself, but if you wait and see and it's still a major concern you can always mention it at your next adjustment
Lots of crimes here
