Orthodontic humor and some news

As those of you know who have committed my posts to memory, I've been in braces approaching 3 years (original plan was 2 years). The problem was in closing a persistent gap on the bottom left. We did propel therapy (twice), he applied a closing spring 6 months ago, and so forth. Anyhow, he was looking around my mouth yesterday checking random (or so it seemed) teeth for movement, and so forth. I was really wanting to hear some good news -- that he'd glance in and say, "Yep, you're done!" and that would be that. But he kept fussing, did something to the bottom arch wire, and I'm thinking that this is the part where he says "Yep, doing good, see you next month" which is ortho-speak for "You ain't done."
Anyhow, during his exam he looks up and says, "I remember that Dr. P. put in a bone graft when he did that extraction before I put you in braces. I wonder where that came from?" I replied "A cadaver, if that's what you mean. He only put one in on the bottom right side, nothing on the left." "Well that destroys my theory," says he, apparently thinking a graft was impeding progress on the left. "But maybe you're haunted now." And he had to stop his exam to enjoy his little joke, and of course I was laughing too, since his timing and facial expression were perfect.
Oh, and the braces are coming off October 29!
