One tooth longer than the other?

#1 Post by braceurself91 »

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the message board. I have had my braces on for about a month now. I have an edge-to-edge under bite that is being corrected with braces and then jaw surgery in roughly a year to a year and a half.
Over the past month I've noticed my teeth have slowly begun to move, and one thing in particular that I've noticed is that one of my top front teeth is now longer than the other one. I feel a little self-conscious about this since it was not that way before the braces.

Has this happened to anyone else? Will the teeth even out on their own or will the orthodontist need to shave the tooth down?

Thanks!

You'll have to ask the ortho what his/her plan is, but a simple bracket re-positioning may be sufficient to intrude the tooth.

I have a slight dose of this on my central incisors. It sucks!
