Root canal and braces

Just wondering if one can get a root canal while they are wearing braces?

Probably. They would most likely have to remove the wire near the tooth. But I doubt it would be an issue. They can bracket or band the crown when done.

I have to get a root canal some time in the next 5 weeks, and my ortho told me the braces would not interfere with it at all. They go through the back of the tooth.

Ever had one before? Do you have molar bands?

Yeah, I had two when I was about 8 or so. I don't remember much about them other than being scared stiff. No, I don't have molar bands, and anyway, the tooth that needs it is a lateral incisor (next to the front ones).

I'm not sure what the picture would look like for bands if you're having a molar done. You should definitely check with your ortho.

I had a root canal 2.5 months into braces. It was an easy process. I didn't have any wires removed or extra trips to the orthodontist.

I had root canal done a few weeks ago; orthodontist removed the wire before I had it done, then replaced the wire a week later.
