Did anyone else have a really hard time adjusting to their ceramic braces? I swear y'all, I'm ready to call the ortho first thing tmorrow and demand that he replace my six clear brackets with metal ones. They're huge and really uncomfortable.
The only thing keeping me from making the call to Dr. C is my fear that they'll charge me for a brand new, complete set of brackets rather than just the 6 I want changed.
Please someone either talk some sense into me or convince me I'm not crazy!
They are harder to adjust to because of their size.. You aren't crazy! This is my third time in braces. First two times were regular metal, this time ceramic on upper 6. It took a short time to get used to them, but I cannot even feel them now. If I could start over, I would've gotten regular metal but I was being vain. That being said, they are already on, and they are less noticeable! I say leave em be you'll forget about them soon! Promise!
My top arch is all ceramic (except molars) and my bottoms are all metal. The ceramics felt a lot rougher against my lips than the metal did, but I eventually got used to them and now they don't bother me as much.
Give it time
Had Damons (ceramic upper, metal lower) from June 27, 2013 - January 20, 2015
15-18 month sentence, official time in braces was 18 months, 3 weeks, 3 days

Another one whose top arch is nearly all ceramic (4 molars are metal). I lucked up and got all my ceramics for free. It was bulky at first but now, I often (really!) forget that I have braces.
Although, I come here, see someone who just got theirs removed, and I start pining for the end!
I've got ceramics on the top and metal on the bottom. It took me a bit longer to get used to the ceramic brackets, they felt huge compared to the metal ones and were more uncomfortable. They've been on four weeks and I don't notice them at all now and haven't for a few weeks. Don't worry you'll soon get used to them.
Had Clarity ceramics both arches. Not much bigger than the metal. No rough edges. Not a problem getting used to them. You should get used to yours in a short time. Stick with it!
I got ceramics uppers and lowers ... it took about 3 days to get used to them .. i like the way they look.. i didn't have any canker sores too (i don't know if it's because of the ceramics or it's just my mouth!) i say maybe just give it some time.
Well, 10 days in and I think I have *finally* gotten used to the ceramic brackets. I'm glad that I decided to stick it out. They are bulkier, but they're nearly invisible in pictures. You really can't tell I have braces unless you're right up close to me.
5 weeks in and finally getting used to them. They did feel HUGE up til about now but I had nothing to compare them to either so I don't really know if they're bigger than metal. I have to say, so far, nothing can stain them which is awesome! I've eaten curry, had lots of red wine, and no change.

I'm curious what color did you get for the ligatures?
