ClearCorrect?

#1 Post by msw »

Does anyone here have ClearCorrect? I just had a consultation and am waiting to hear back from my dentist about whether I'm a candidate. Did anyone explore ClearCorrect only to learn they weren't a candidate?

Thanks!

Looks similar to Invislign. I think when looking for basic information you should just assume they are the same, and you should find plenty of resources here.

Yeah I looked into Clear Correct. I knew someone who had it. I went to my ortho for Invisalign but he said he really did do Clear Correct. Anyhow, I wasn't a candidate.... I have a gap in between my two front teeth and it wouldn't work for that I guess.

As a side-note, you are probably much better off going to an orthodontist for at least a consult even if your dentist "clears" you for ClearCorrect (pun intended.) If ClearCorrect is anything like Invisilgn, they'll make a set of trays for any set of impressions that rolls in the door, whether or not it's a viable treatment plan; they rely on the dentist's judgement to determine that. An orthodontist (who undergoes years of additional training) is going to be in a better position to make that call than a dentist that went through a couple days of continuing education on orthodontics.

I almost considered Clear Correct a few years ago... my dentist at the time started offering it. It was considerably cheaper than the Carriere + Invisalign route I'm going now, but I really wanted to be under an orthodontist's care which was the deciding factor for me.
