That is so cruel! Knowing that we are all STARVING! I am always so hungry! I'm only 4 months into treatment and I am already planning my first meal after debanding! (I'm estimated 24 months of treatment) lol!
I'm sorry your adjustment hurt they stink! But you are a step closer in the right direction! I actually prefer my teeth to hurt.. I know they are moving! take lots of Advil for the next few days.
oh ouchies! i am sorry to hear that your first adjustment hurt, but I can guarantee mine is going to as well cos I have had pain this whole time so far! poor thing, hope it goes away soon!
omg ouch... it would of been while they were changing the archwire and touching your teeth etc, i touch my teeth with my fingers and i feel like screaming lol. they are so tender even brushing hurts sometimes... funny that its a different tooth each day! lol
Sorry to hear your adjustment was so painful. Do you know why it was so painful?
I had one last week, and about an hour after I left, my bracket popped off so had to go back a day later. While doing the adjustment, my ortho asked if it hurt. When I said "No, not at all.", she was shaking her head and asking herself "why". I've lots of movement but no pain.....
I'm just wondering why it is so different depending on the person.
I wasn't prepared for how painful it was, I didn't feel a thing when I got the braces, and my teeth haven't been that painful since, but the pressure of applying the new wire was at least an 8 on the pain scale. There was one tooth that had been especially sore lately and it sent me through the roof when they worked on it. I'm afraid this is what I have to look forward to from now on, must be brave.

Pulling down an impacted canine is extremely painful though!
I had a canine pulled down in my teens and I don't remember it being especially painful apart from the day they "dug it out" to attach the bracket and chain. I've reached the conclusion that I'm "orthodontically insensitive"!

An 8?!!!! Oh wow, you poor thing! That is how I'd describe the pain from my herniated disc and pinched nerve (last year). Do you take some otc painkillers before you go?
No, I didn't take anything, although the hygenist I saw earlier was saying TAKE THESE with an especially knowing expression. So now it's my turn, if you're getting an adjustment, take something ahead of time!!!
