Wow, Tim, almost three years. Glad it was worth it and you're still following happenings here six years later. Do you ever miss your braces?

Every day I wore braces was worth it. I don't miss braces, but if I had to do it over again at my age (64), I'd do it without hesitation. I'm really glad that you posted about older adults with braces. I think that older adults who are in braces/have had braces should support each other.

Yes, I'm one of the original 10 members of this version of the forum and pop in now and then, though not regularly.

I am 54 -- will be 55 in August. Most of my self-consciousness is gone now, thank goodness. Still somewhat embarrassed but I've mostly been able to get past that.

I think it's hard to get rid of the self-consciousness as I'm almost always aware of the braces, but I've never felt embarrassed. My view is that most people don't care at all, and as I've said many times before, many of the others probably envy us for having the courage to go ahead and fix our orthodontic problems, so there's no reason to be embarrassed.

I was 55 and no concerns. I want these to be my "forever teeth"!

There must be someone lurking out there older than 66!
