Inccorrect Bracket Positioning?!?!

Looking at my self-ligating brackets i notice that my maxillary laterals are rolling in a way that their incisal edges are shifted more mesially (towards the centrals) than their bases. I've had braces for 6-months now (and my ortho esitimates i keep them for 12-14 months +/-). When i inspect my brackets for these laterals i noticed that they are NOT running parallel to their incissal edges.
So my question, for my lateral incisors shouldn't the brackets be running parallel to the incissal edges since logically the tooth would then begin to roll/rotate straight over time?
For each of my straight teeth i notice the brackets all run parallel to their incissal/occulsal edges. But my upper laterals do not. Interestingly those brackets are running parallel if you compare them to say my centrals. But the tooth itself (the laterals) are angled. This says to me that the brackets are not correctly placed since the tooth is being turned to allow the brackets to run parallel when in fact the bracket should be now angled with the tooth to allow the tooth to roll back straight.
Please correct me if i am wrong.
