Loose Tooth

#1 Post by linguallady »

Hi Everyone

I would just like to know if this is normal. I have one tooth at the top which is quite loose, if I press on it i can see it moving in the gum.
I know teeth go through a process of being loose and tightening up on and off with braces, but this seems different.

The tooth in particular is constantly being knocked by the tooth below it, and i clench my jaw when i sleep so it gets a lot of pressure as well.

I mentioned this tooth to the ortho, but he said its fine theyre all loose!

Any thoughts?

But i have a tooth that feels more loose that the others too...Asked my ortho and he said basically the same thing.

I guess we all get kinda paranoid with braces huh...im always checking to make sure nothing isnt broken and stuff.

I'm also getting paranoid because of some teeth that feel losse at the moment ,,

I don't know if this is normal or how long it would take to settle again :Questions: :Questions:
Basically they are 2 loose tooth which has moved a lot during the past months and my ortho gave me elastics to be put on this loose tooth I'm so scared .

I hope some one who were in the same situation can calm us down

It is normal to have loose teeth.

Even to have one feel looser than the others.

It takes time for everything to calm down. :D

Just remember that loose teeth are a good thing because it means you are having movement. :jump:

The bond has to be "soften" and then the teeth can move.

Take pictures, it helps. I take pictures every month and it helped me a lot in the beginning. It makes you feel so good about your decision.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone, I'm feeling a lot better now :) If we're all in the same boat (the loose-tooth boat lol) then I guess it must mean what we're going through is normal and knowing that we're going through it together is a great comfort. Phew!

I'm meant to be having my teeth cleaned today and my first filling (eeeeeK!!!!!) I'm stressing about the filling but even more about the cleaning. My teeth are so loose im worried they may come out when he presses on them :soremouth: Does anyone know if its a good idea to have my teeth cleaned a week after an adjustment?
