pain with TADS

#1 Post by ngeringer »

Hello I got my TADS about 6 weeks ago and I have been having pain in the left side of my mouth. It hurt so bad I had to take 4 ibuprofen and the ibuprofen wasn't working so I had to take a vicodin. Anyone have TADS and have major discomfort once TADS started moving teeth.

I would call your othos office because i think it says with tads if the pain persists for more than a week to speak with your dental proffessional.

I'm about an inch from having them put in myself i think but i try not to think about it.

I had TAD's for 6 months. There was no pain during insertion, the entire 6 month duration, or during removal. TAD's are put into bone and there are no nerve endings in bone. Maybe the tissue around it has become irritated, or it's the teeth moving that are causing you pain. If you believe its the TAD you should call your ortho,,,maybe it's not placed correctly.

I had them for about 5 months. Never had any pain from them, just slight discomfort with tooth movement

I am probably the odd one, but I just got a TAD put into the roof of my mouth and I had REAL pain.

My ortho used topical gel and injected lidocaine, but had to go back and add more. Even so, the pain was pretty intense while he tightened it. SO glad that's done...praying it stays put and does its job!

Hi, Ive also had 2 TAD's in my upper pallet for for 3 months now. Only pain I had was when they went because of having to screw into upper pallet. Never felt pain like it and it still hurts when the tighten them. Also felt a lot of pressure as they nearly went into my sinus. Forgotten they are there now part from when they are tightened.
Started treatment to correct open bite non surgically

My Story so far: http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtop ... 13&t=44572
TAD's inserted into upper pallet 9/5/13
Braces & intrusion appliance fitted 23/5/13 - journey has now fully begun.
1st adjustment 2/07/13

I've had 4 TAD's for almost a year now and had no pain caused by them. I would see the person who put them in, just in case. The only problems I have had were from the gum around it being inflammed, but a veery soft toothbrush dipped in antiseptic mouthwash always helped.

I did see my surgeon who put them in before travelling overseas and he said the mild inflammation I did have was most likely due to the pulling and pushing they were doing.

Mine hurt alot. Like making me cry kind of hurt. It was horrible and he had to unscrew and retry another spot.

I'm supposed to be getting 2 TADs in when I get braced. These mixed reviews on the pain I should expect are making me a lot more nervous..

Most people are ok. I actually hadnt heard any bad reviews until after I got them. If you read my story you will see that the anxiety of the visit probably contributed to my bad experience. I was left sitting for a long time and had to be numbed again.
