Hi I am an English 18 year old studying a full time course at university
My problem is that I have 2 front teeth that stick out from the rest and are quite big, and also because of this my bottom row of teeth bites into the gum of the top
From 15-16 I had braces for free for my top row of teeth, it was pretty succesful and made my teeth perfectly straight even though the 2 front ones were still pretty big, it looked so much better
but then I made such a stupid mistake that I am always kicking myself about.
I received a retainer that seemed unusually big (it was mostly just a huge chunk of plastic) and I was told I only had to wear it at night but while trying to sleep I couldn't even close my mouth because of it and it made me constantly produce saliva etc (it was impossible to sleep) so after a few nights of trying, I just gave up and told my dad that we need to book an appointment to see the orthodontist but he was always so busy and never really got round to it and eventually he forgot and I stopped worrying about it since it was exactly the time I just moved to different town starting college; I had no idea my teeth would go straight back out again

My questions are:
How much would it cost me to get the top row done again?
Do I get a discount for being a university student?
Is there any sort of dental loan I could use to pay for it? So that I can get it done as quick as possible because I heard the longer you wait, the harder it becomes
Who do I go to, to make it happen? I'm living at Lancaster University at the moment but my dentist is in Southport where I came from (it would be a bit annoying having to go hour+ on the train to southport for every appointment)
How soon should I realistically hope to get braces put in and taken out by ?

Re: Questions about getting braces
To have all of those answered, you should book a consultation with an ortho in Lancaster where you are attending university. I don't think that anyone here can answer your questions since the majority aren't orthodontists.
Good luck with your search for a new ortho.
