Hey everyone,
at my last appointment my ortho put in 17 by 17 TIMA wires on top and bottom. Can someone pls give me an idea if this is roundd or square, and if this is supposed to be a strong or weak wire?

He said at my next adjustment (next month). i'm going to get a really strong wire and start pulling my teeth back to close my 1st premolar extraction gaps.
I have seen very minor changes since i started, and i believe i've had about 3 wire changes. I want to have an idea what stage i am..thanks a lot!!

I am sorry i cant answer your question but i can tell you what i have had. I have had my braces for about 10 months now and i have been told i have got the strongest wire that i will get. I have had the wire changed several times but i have only had 3 or possibly 4 different strength wires. When he put on the strongest wire he told me that i wouldn't see much from now on and that all the movement is going on "behind the scenes".

I am still on track to have surgery at the 18month mark so i will be in the same strength wire for a while yet.

thanks for answering. Do you know the actual strength of your wire?

No sorry he has never mentioned the strength of it.
