How to become a Dental Technician in the UK?

Hi All,
My fiancee has decided to take a career change and wants to become a dental technician.
She has moved from overseas and holds no relevant qualifications, GCSE or A-levels.
Could someone please advise me the procedures that should be undertaken for her to enrol for a university course?
Will she have to go through the GCSE and A-levels or are there foundation courses which skips these long year studies?
Any advice is welcome.
