Considering Inman Aligner or similar product..anyone tried?

#1 Post by style1983 »

Hi, I just joined the forum. One of my incisors (right side front teeth) is out of place from not having my wisdom teeth pulled out early enough. The other one is slightly as well but not nearly as much and its unnoticed. It is especially obvious when I smile that my right incisor is out of place. My dentist says it will be difficult to find an orthodontist willing to make such minor adjustments - they'll tell me I should get the real braces or invisalign, although this is possible. I also have a slight overbite which does not bother me (more reason for real braces), I just want this one tooth fixed. He mentioned the possibility of a special retainer called the Inman Aligner for cases like mine.

I can't afford either of those right now, and I don't care if it turns out perfect. I just want it pushed back.

I work in the salon industry and will have to remove this for most of the day. I'll be able to wear it overnight which is 9 hours for me, and at least 5 or 6 hours after work. This is short of the 20 hours per day they recommend, but I still want to give this a try. Has anyone here used the Inman Aligner or a similar retainer with good results? Was it difficult finding an orthodontist who would do this? I found some in my area, but they are cosmetic dentists, opposed to orthodontists. I'm worried it may end up costing alot, I can't find an accurate average price for the US regarding Inman Aligner or a similar product. I've also thought about partial braces as long as they are hidden. Besides this one tooth I'm happy with my teeth and finally want to fix it.

Has anyone tried this?

Any replies appreciated.

There is a 60-ish page thread on the Inman Aligner viewtopic.php?f=13&t=26628&start=915
You should be able to find any and all info there.
