Lower Recession

#1 Post by Plumcore »

So..i noticed today while i was brushing my teeth, that it seems that on one or two of my lowers i have gum recession. At this point i don't know if it's in my head, or if it really happened, or if it's just a visual illusion because my lowers got straighter..How can i be sure? And what can i do besides flossing and brushing, which im already doing.

I wouldn’t worry too much. Two of my front teeth were rotated 90 degrees and raised quite a bit. The gums look lower and the teeth look longer on these than the rest. I think it’s just the result of all the movement they have undergone. Mention it at your next adjustment visit though.

I will. Problem is my next visit is on April 15th...and im getting angsty about it. I really don't want to end up like my father. Teeth falling out is..my worst, worst, very worst nightmare.

I was worried about the same thing. They told me that it takes a long time for recession to get bad. But, definately ask at your next appt. I'm curious as to what my dentist says at my next cleaning in April.

They will probably pay more attention if you have bottom braces on, that's what my ortho stated..she would keep an eye on it after I get them on.

I had recession around both of my bottom canines and before I was braced I had two gum grafts done on each of the teeth. You wouldn't be able to tell by looking at them now, but if the recession is really bad, that could be an option for you.
