Premolar Extractions!

#1 Post by deespeights »

Hi guys and gals!!

My ortho said that I need four 1st pre-molars removed. I'm very scared about this because online I was reading a lot of people say their face has become sunken in. I already had the lower right one removed yesterday but now i'm petrified that I may mess up my face. What would I have to get the 1st one removed vs. the 2nd one? I'm seeing a lot of people online get the 2nd ones removed. Does anyone have any pictures of what their face and teeth look like after having extractions.

Thanks so much!

I think it is rare for it to negatively affect your appearance. Here is why they do 1st premolar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrOUvT76CSs and this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKcg5ZpG ... re=related

And this is when/why they do second premolar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkrQfly4 ... 63884091D8

I just saw a huge poster at CVS of Carrie Underwood. SHe had her premolars extracted.
It doesnt automatically sink your face in.

Many times it improves the profile.

I had my first premolars out on the top and my seconds out on the bottom. My braces are now off. No sunken-in face during treatment or now.
