loose teeth

#1 Post by wired nana »

I just got my braces on two weeks ago and have a couple of loose teeth. I guess the teeth have to loosen up in order to move, but it's kind of freaking me out! Is this normal?

Its all part of the fun. Just dont wiggle them a bunch on purpose, or they will probably get sore!

yup totally normal. Random teeth with just get loose then go back to normal... it's weird when you go for an adjustment and they take your wire off for the first time then your teeth really feel loose.

Hi wired nana,

I agree; it does feel wierd! If I clench my teeth in the mirror, I can see them move. It is normal, but odd at the same time. This time, you don't want the teeth to fall out in order to get some money from the Tooth Fairy

Best of luck to you!

I'm happy to say that my loose teeth have moved slightly and have tightened back up. I have had my braces for one month now, so that's pretty exciting! I had this big fear that since I'm a middle aged woman with low bone density that my teeth wouldn't tighten up again. I had visions of them falling right out. Yea, I'm so happy!!

OMG...when my teeth first started moving, and getting loose all over the place...I had nightmares that my teeth were falling out! I woke up one night in a sweat, and had to go check my teeth in the mirror to make sure I hadn't lost any. I'm better now about not stressing over teeth stuff, and usually in about 3 days the problem is gone and moved onto another tooth.
