Wearing more than 1 pair of elastics?

Wearing more than 1 pair of elastics?

So my orthodontist has finally prescribed wearing elastics (about 1 week ago).

What would happen if I wore more than 1 set on my braces?

Faster movement? Gum recession?

I've tried this a couple times (within a 1 week duration), and the only symptom so far is a slightly sore jaw :?
