New teeth sensitivity

#1 Post by Nawners »

It's been a while since my last post!
I have been braced about 21 months and recently started experiencing very painful tooth sensitivity, mostly where my elastics are attached. Is this a normal occurance when teeth start to move? I have been wearing elastics for about a year now, but only recently have I been diligent about wearing them..
Cold and heat both bring the pain, and sometimes it even hurts to breath in through my mouth.
Should I call the ortho, or just get some toothpaste for sensitivity?

check out a couple of threads before. There is one on tooth sensitivity. What you describe sounds like classic symptoms for exposed dentine.

Sensodyne helps, but it helps slowly. Dentists can so sthg similar which helps much quicker.
